Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle received the top rating from the fiscally conservative Club For Growth, according to the rankings released by the Washington-based group this morning.

It’s not too surprising, given the Republican freshman’s deep conservative streak in Congress. But Buerkle’s rating of 92 percent — based on key votes compiled by the group — blows away any other New York Republican.

The runner-ups in New York were Reps. Tom Reed, who received a 68 percent rating and Nan Hayworth at 56 percent. The dean of the GOP delegation, Long Island Rep. Peter King, scored a 48 percent this year.

As Bill Carey documented earlier, Buerkle has been working to maintain ties to the right as she faces what’s expected to be a tough re-election year.
