Tier 6,  we do not need another pension tier. what the governor should be doing is raising the COLA in the pension system to keep Correctional Officers and other experence working on the job so the state can have a good workforce and reward them for the service.

Cuomo stated recently that pay raises for his commissioners are needed to keep attracting the best and the brightest. Doesn’t the same apply to the front line staffers in the State workforce? Pay freezes and the introduction of a tier 6 which would eliminate the pension plan among other things would do more damage then good and would certainly not attract the best and the brightest. You would have a revolving door in the State workforce and everyone of us would eventually feel it. We all depend on the State workforce more than we realize. MR. CUOMO: PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH.

Not only raises to his commissioners……..the article I read stated that legislators were also due raises to leep the best and brightest. Hmmmm….I smell a rat here as a legislators base pay is 79,500 with perks and per diems that push salaries into the 6 figure range for a PART TIME job. Now……compound this with the fact that our illustrious Governor is asking each and every state employee (except legislators and commissioners of course) to accept a pay freeze or give backs. Is this state seriously messed up or what?

Don’t worry, the govenor gave welfare a 10% raise, everything will be okay now.                                                                                        

The Governor is no differentt than his father. Sr. Coumo promised a grade raise and then refused and lagged us. This son is no different. When Wisconsons Gov. Scott Walker gets recalled for his attacks on unions then lets get rid of this bully.Thats the only way NYS Corrrectional Officers will finally be respected.
