Dirty Politics, Literally
It may be an off-year election, but there are quite a few local races heating up under the radar screen across the state. Readers (bless you) have been forwarding a variety of mailers, and I’ll be posting the best of them – or worst, depending on your point of view – leading up to the Nov. 8 general election.
This one was sent out by freshman GOP Nassau County Legislator Howard Kopel, who, as Azi Paybarah noted earlier, lost out on the all-important Newsday endorsement to his Democratic opponent, Adam Moser.
The mailer attacks Moser for defending two lap dancers who were facing prostitution charges back in January 2010 in a Manhattan court. The front notes that Kopel managed to get an “offensive” bill board atop a Rockaway Turnpike gentleman’s club removed – something his predecessor, former Democratic Legislator Jeff Toback, was unable to do.
Ths district in question here includes Five Towns, a heavily Orthodox Jewish area.
