Judge Lippman Talks Juvenile Justice
New York’s top judge wants to see more cases involving young offenders sent to Family Court. Right now, 16 and 17 year olds are treated as adults. Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman says sending nonviolent offenders to Family Court would be better for the defendants and eventually save the state money.
