GOP/Conservative congressional hopeful Randy Altschuler has a new TV ad out today that’s remarkably similar to the one I just posted that hits a Democratic state senator for voting to raise taxes and fees 124 times.

Altschuler’s spot slams his Democratic opponent, Rep. Tim Bishop, for voting “125 times to raise taxes.”

UPDATE: Bishop’s campaign sent the following response:

“Outsourcer Randy Altschuler’s newest ad ends his campaign as it began, with lies and distortions. Calling Tim Bishop a ‘career politician’ when he didn’t run for office until he was 52 is like calling Randy Altschuler a “job creator” for sending 10,000 American jobs overseas.”

Randy’s message on taxes is laughable considering that the fact that federal taxes have not gone up for any Long Island families since Tim Bishop took office.”

“In fact, the Recovery Act, which Randy Altschuler says he would’ve voted against, gave tax cuts to middle-class Americans, including 251,000 families in our district. It’s no wonder that a recent Siena poll showed more voters trust Tim Bishop on taxes, because they know he will always stand up for middle-class tax cuts.”
