Actually, I’m not sure where we’re at with this anymore, but Carl Paladino just told FOX News that he will indeed release proof that Andrew Cuomo had extramarital affairs “at the appropriate time.”

“We will at the appropriate time, OK, say whatever we have in our, in our box. At the appropriate time yes…What I believe and what is factual out there we will, at the approriate time, put out, yes.”

So, that runs counter to what Paladino spokesman Michael Caputo told The Buffalo News yesterday, which was that the candidate “misspoke” when he said during his dust-up with The Post’s Fred Dicker that he would provide proof of his Democratic opponent’s infidelities “at the approrpriate time”.

Dicker was very “in your face” with Paladino, Caputo explained, which, ostensibly, caused the candidate to misunderstand the question.

There was no misunderstanding Megyn Kelly’s questions this afternoon, however.

Paladino sat for the interview at the Buffalo YNN studio, and I was able to watch the entire thing. He seemed very calm and not at all flustered. At the very least, he can’t argue someone was sticking a microphone in his face because the interview was what we call a “talkback.”

Paladino insisted that during his discussion with POLITICO’s Maggie Haberman he thought it was an “affront” that he was being grilled on his personal life, while the same questions haven’t been put to Cuomo.

“We were talking about people constantly asking me about my personal life and never asking Andrew about his personal life. She had asked me in a number of different ways about what I knew about his personal life.”

“…From my perspective, I just found it very unusual that I get treated this way by press, by bird dogs like Mr. Mr. uh, Dickers (sic) who’s other there doing (Cuomo’s) work. Mr. Dickers is all part of that same establishment that I’ve been criticizing all along.”

Also, during a CapTon interview with me yesterday, Paladino reiterated the “at the appropriate time” comments. He also said this is “just the beginning of what I will vet on Andrew Cuomo,” adding: “The press has chosen not to properly vet the man. That’s their problem. I will vet him.”

To be clear: We taped this interview shortly before 2 p.m. and then aired it shortly after 8 p.m. At some point during the six hours in between, Paladino changed his mind on the extramarital affairs allegations and spoke to his hometown paper.

Now, apparently, he’s changed it back again.
