Callaghan Previews Comptroller Debate
Well, the race for governor is certainly providing the most drama and, therefore, it’s generating the most headlines this campaign season… But there are, of course, several other statewide contests to keep an eye on.
On Monday, we’ll be highlighting the race for state comptroller in our first general election debate. Tune in at 7 as incumbent Tom DiNapoli squares off against Republican challenger Harry Wilson in a live debate at Pace University in Manhattan.
Former Saratoga County Treasurer Chris Callaghan ran an unsuccessful campaign for state comptroller in 2006 on the Republican line.
He lost that race to Democratic incumbent Alan Hevesi who was under investigation for misuse of public resources at the time. Hevesi pleaded guilty and resigned not long after winning the election. He spoke to Kaitlyn Ross in Albany Friday.
