Team Paladino’s push back against the effort by Democrats – and some fellow Republicans – to cast the GOP gubernatorial nominee as a racist and too extreme to lead the state continues with this Web video featuring an appeal from one of his daughters, Danielle.

This comes on the heels of a video released Friday that featured NFL Hall of Famer and former Buffalo Bill Thuman Thomas, who is African American.

The two videos have much the same message, which is curious, since Danielle Paladino might have been better placed to reject the claim her father is sexist due to the pornographic e-mail he forwarded that depicted a woman engaged in a sex act with a horse.

Still, she’s a powerful surrogate, as family members tend to be, and in this case doubly so, given the candidate’s less-than-conventional family situation. Here’s the script:

UPDATE: A reader notes this is a re-release. The video originally came out in April back when the e-mail scandal first broke.

“Hello. I’m Danielle Paladino Jacobs. Since my Dad decided to run for governor, my family has experienced the highs and lows of politics. We were so proud when he announced he would run. But it has been very frustrating to see him the target of an unfair personal attack.”

“My Dad is not a racist. In fact, he may be the one man with the courage, strength and ability to clean up Albany and return government to the people. Get to know my dad, Carl Paladino, and his program for New York yourself and visit PaladinoforthePeople.com. Don’t listen to the smears – it’s time to change New York for the better – forever.”
