Zimpher Takes Responsibility For SUNY Empowerment Setback
SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher is leading the charge to improve the SUNY’s standing among higher education systems in the nation. She’s only been on the job for 15 months and already she’s visited all 64 campuses.
Last week, she was dealt a major setback when the Senate finished the budget and packed it in without a concrete SUNY empowerment deal in place. But, those who know Zimpher, know it will take more than that for her to give up the fight.
Liz Benjamin caught up with the Chancellor Monday to see what went wrong with the empowerment plan.
