Dems To Wilson: Who Are You? (Updated)
Consider this “creative use of music” day.
First the Lazio campaign released a Web video hitting AG Andrew Cuomo using the song “Runaway” to illustrate the AG’s reluctance to chat publicly about his love for Rep. Charlie Rangel outside the embattled Democrat’s birthday fundraiser last night.
(We accused Cuomo of avoiding the media in an earlier post, but, to be fair, his campaign notes the question was shouted out by a Lazio staffer).
Now comes a musical interlude compliments of the state Democratic Party, which employs that catchy little ditty “Who Are You?” – by (who else?) The Who, circa 1978 – in a Web video that hits GOP state comptroller candidate Harry Wilson for having “Wall Street values, not ours.”
UPDATE: The ad reiterates a report last year that Wilson was pushed out of the hedge fund firm Silver Point Capital because of a string of bad investments. Silver Point has a statement rejecting that claim, and it is as follows:
“Harry is very smart and worked extremely hard as a member of the firm. Harry approached us with his desire to leave Silver Point to pursue his longstanding interest in public service and spend more time with his family. We respect and admire his decision, and we wish him the best.”
