Calcaterra Still Off The Ballot (Updated)
The Appellate Division of the Second Department has upheld a lower court ruling on Democratic Long Island Senate candidate Regina Calcaterra’s residency that knocked her off the fall ballot against GOP Sen. Ken LaValle.
This is a blow to both Calcaterra and the Senate Democrats, who included her on a list of marquis challengers and were banking on her to help them grow their razor-thin majority.
Calcaterra hasn’t yet decided whether to appeal. She just released the following statement:
“Although I disagree with the appellate court’s ruling, I respect the legal process. After reading the court’s opinion clearly and consulting with my campaign’s attorney, I will have more to say on Thursday.”
