Ever since the convention, Republican US Senate designee Bruce Blakeman has been slamming his primary opponent, David Malpass, accusing him of being an “ivory tower” candidate and portraying himself as a more down-to-earth, “pizza and beer” type of guy who really understands working people.

A reader forwarded this photo of Trump Palace, an apartment building on the Upper East Side (69th Street), which is where Blakeman hangs hit hat, noting the irony of the fact that the face is, well, rather light in color.

Ivory-ish, if you will.

Blakeman, who served as presiding officer of the Nassau County Legislature from 1996 to 1999, is a native of Valley Stream, LI, where the median income for a household in the village was $77,905 in 2007. The median income for all of New York State is $55,980.

Blakeman and Malpass are competing to take on Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in November. Former Westchester Rep. Joe DioGuardi, who is the Conseravtive Party designee, is trying to petition his way in to the GOP primary, too.
