Montel Williams Lobbies For Medical Marijuana At The Capitol

TV and radio personality, Montel Williams, stopped by the Capitol on Tuesday in hopes of convincing lawmakers to pass a bill that would legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes in New York.

He discusses his personal connection and his nationwide initiative to legalize pot and also tells Liz Benjamin that he uses the drug several times a day to alleviate pain as a result of MS.

I hope that people will finally start voting for issues like this so that our voices are heard, rather than those of a powerful and vocal minority. It is crazy that it has taken so long to legalize marijuana for medical use. Why should the government stop somebody from smoking a pipe or using a glass bong? It shows the disconnect between the people and the law. Freedom is only possible when everyone votes and takes responsibility for democracy. Bravo Montel, Bravo
