Paladino’s Plan To Get On The Ballot
Heeding the advice from fellow Western New York billionaire and former gubernatorial candidate, Tom Golisano, Carl Paladino is not relying solely on a third-party line to win the governor’s race this year.
“(Golisano) told me, ‘I couldn’t get above 18 percent because I stayed with that third party idea.’ He says, ‘you can’t win just with the third party. You have to get the Republican nod.’”
“So we will fight for the Republican line and I will have the Republican line,” said Paladino.
But, if that doesn’t work, Paladino says he has a contingency plan.
“That’s really up to (Conservative Party Chairman) Mike Long,” said Paladino.
“If Mike Long endorses us or gives us an opportunity to primary on the Conservative line, then I promised Mike Long we will not form a third line. If he doesn’t, then we will form a third line.”
