Republican US Senate candidate David Malpass released his first TV ad today. He’s the first of Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s three GOP challengers to buy airtime.

The spot is called “Piling Debt on Debt” and will air statewide.

Malpass doesn’t specifically name the junior senator in the spot Instead, he takes aim at what he calls “Washington’s tax-and-spend culture.”

Here is the text of the ad:

“There are nearly a million people out of work in New York State. And still, Washington spends more and piles debt on debt.

These policies hurt New York. They hurt real families. Elections are about choices. Politicians want bigger, more expensive government. I want smaller, leaner government.

These are solutions I’ve fought for my whole life. Yhis November, I know I can bring change to Washington’s tax-and-spend culture.

I’m David Malpass. I approved this message.”
